The Other Woman Movie Review

Just for the record, I have to wait until I get the chance to rent the movies and watch them to give you my reviews of them. (Unless, I’m blessed enough to get them early.)

I have had my eye on The Other Womanir?t=tidbitofexp 20&l=as2&o=1&a=B00KNALRZ4 for a long time now. I’m glad I kept my eye on it because it was a really awesome movie. It was hilarious! It definitely helped put me in a better mood.

I have stressed that I don’t believe in Open Marriages. I thought this movie was going to head in the direction of an open marriage, but I’m glad to say it didn’t.

Oh how I want to tell you the ending, but I don’t do spoiler alerts often. I will tell you this, this movie does give me hope that there still are enough people who want to have the typical marriage that found this movie worth watching.

I won’t lie this movie made me want to tell this wife why her husband was wanting to have an affair in the first place. However, I found I would be looking in the mirror a good bit with this one. See lately, I’ve been picking on my husband’s looks and health a lot. I’ve turned into that nagging wife I warned others against being.

I know my husband hasn’t cheated on me. Shoot he doesn’t have the chance to do it. However, if he did, I’m sure he’d be looking for someone to make him feel better about himself even if he never cheated on me physically.

This wife in this movie didn’t even attempt to look worth a dime for her husband. She nagged him about what he was eating. She acted like a child who knew nothing.

Now, I know I’m guilty of not caring about my looks enough! I’m working on that. I’m trying desperately to get over my hurdle that is holding me back. I know God is pushing me to make it happen too because he is opening the doors for support and guidance at every turn.

I totally enjoyed this movie. I can’t wait until next week when Mom’s Night Out and Draft Day come out. They Came Together looks like it has some promise to it too.

    • Trust me, I felt the same way. However, I knew the humor part would at least make it worth watching. I’m so utterly glad I took the chance on it. I’d love hear your thoughts after you’ve watched it.

  1. From what I saw of this movie (I didn’t rent it yet, saw the previews) he was having lots of affairs. It doesn’t sound like he was looking for sympathy elsewhere, it sounds like he lacked character. He looked for meaningless flings with sexy, younger women…am I right?

    • He’s a JERK. However, to be honest, I think it goes beyond him just being a jerk. I think it’s a case of he needs some help learning how to be more secure with what he brings to a relationship. (I better stop there..that’s a blog post comment starting to happen.)

  2. I couldn’t get into this movie since I felt it was over the top at times. Therefore, I didn’t finish it. Your review makes me want to give it a second chance by renting it again. 🙂

    • I can agree that there were moments when it was well over the top! However, for some reason, maybe it’s because of the story line and my strong feelings about cheating or open marriages that kept me wanting to know what she ended up deciding to do.

  3. I haven’t heard of this movie and from the title I would never have checked it out. I’m glad you told us about it because I added it to my “want to see” list.

    • Honestly, I was SCARED to watch it. However, it is a pretty decent movie. It’s not a top favorite, but it’s good for some laughs.
