Catching Faith Movie Review

I’ve been going through a lot of hard times lately. Life has been filled with so much drama that it has been sucking the life out of me. When there is this much drama surrounding me it’s hard to fight the Evil Depression Monster. It’s during these times that it’s really hard to hang on. My relationships from God to my family and friends all become quite challenged! When I was asked to review [easyazon_link identifier=”B00WY8IVAW” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Catching Faith[/easyazon_link] I was actually in pretty high spirits and doing well in my life, but when it came in I was questioning a lot. I was hanging on by a thread!

I’ve told you before that music, movies, and books all have a way of pulling me out of my slumps. That has a lot to do with me always comparing a situation mentioned in them to my own personal life. Everything always reverts back to ME it seems in some form or fashion. People may not realize that is my way of trying to put myself in another’s shoes. I’m a fixer by nature, and that’s usually what others want from me. When I can’t fix situations, it can pull me down quickly!!! At least until I figure out how to get even a bit of silver lining to solving whatever may be wrong.

I’m telling you all of this because the main character in [easyazon_link identifier=”B00WY8IVAW” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Catching Faith[/easyazon_link] was a woman who strived to ensure that her and her family looked perfect to the outside world. Yet, her relationships with her family weren’t that strong. My family is going through a really rough time right now. There are major changes happening and finding the right solution for them seems to be putting us in bigger catch 22 situations than what we were in before we started.

The family in [easyazon_link identifier=”B00WY8IVAW” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Catching Faith[/easyazon_link] had some pretty tough decisions to make concerning their son’s choices. They had to make a stand together despite how upset it made their son. They faced a lot of ridicule for those choices they made as parents. They even had people trying to tear apart their family even more.

Through all of it, Alexa joins a woman’s Bible study, and while doing that study it helps her make changes. I know first-hand how powerful a Bible study and group of woman of faith in your life can make a positive difference in your life.

This movie shows what happens when we put faith in God. It shows how much believing in God can make a positive difference in our lives. However, honestly it goes beyond just a relationship with God. It covers living with integrity regardless of your religious beliefs! It’s not a movie that shoves God in your face, but it does address important principles in how Christians should behave and carry themselves.

I recommend [easyazon_link identifier=”B00WY8IVAW” locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Catching Faith[/easyazon_link] for all audiences. My kids enjoyed it, but it lacked action and drama to make them say it was a great movie. Yet, they were glad they watched it. Movies like these have a way of speaking to my kids when nothing else seems to work too. I appreciate that aspect of watching these wholesome family movies with them.

This movie releases on DVD on August 18, 2015. It’s worth getting!

Do you think your faith is strong enough right now?

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.

    • That is truly a challenge. I have done it some in of my posts, but not a whole lot. It’s not easy to be that vulnerable to the whole world.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I hope to see you again soon.
