Destiny Beta Review

I was not paid for this post at all. This is just me sharing my opinion.

I pre-ordered the game when I first heard about it. I have been waiting for this game to come out on 9/9/14 ever since it has been ordered. I am still itching for it to come out.

When I found out that they were going to be doing a beta version, yep you guessed it, I was all over it. I literally was counting down to be a part of the beta group. I would have been playing the game longer if I had faster Internet, but unfortunately, my Internet holds me back. Yet, once I finally got the beta version downloaded, I was very pleased to report that it didn’t take as much Internet bandwidth as playing Defiance does.

When you first start the game, you are dead, but a ghost machine brings you back. As you go through the game you can upgrade yourself and your things. I liked how you have a staging area in the game “In Orbit.”  I’m not sure if it was just me, but I didn’t see any in game chat areas. It would have been nice to interact with other players. I know when I was at the tower section it would have been nice to find other players that might want to team up. I guess I’m showing my age when I say that your first ride, not the spaceship, reminds me of something that was on Star Wars Return of the Jedi.

The game play was great. Interaction with objects was easy. Fire teams are nice, would be better if you could voice chat with them when you are auto grouped.

My boys really enjoyed watching me play this game. When we made our grand arrival to the moon that was a moment we won’t forget because it was something we were itching to do throughout the entire game play.

I can’t wait for the street date on this game and other games for the PS4, XBOX One, and Wii U that are coming out. I am looking forward to making new friends playing this game and seeing all the things that weren’t included in the beta version.

What are you looking forward to?

Hi, I'm Dale. Some of the things I like to do are box, lift weights, and spend time with my beautiful wife Crystal. I also enjoy watching shows on Netflix or playing video games with my son when I can find some free time.

    • The actual game doesn’t come out until 9/9/14, which is two weeks away. I’m counting down.
