SCRABBLE Review

I was given this game in exchange for an honest blog review. That in no way shaped my opinion of this product.

SCRABBLE is a great game for the family. SCRABBLE is a game that can keep the players well entertained for hours on end provided you have a fellow word lover playing with you. This new version of SCRABBLE has now added some added benefits to it.

You can now play with Power Tiles in SCRABBLE. There are two star and one blank colored tile for each player.

When you play the blank title, like you would in Classic SCRABBLE, but now you earn three points for the title (or more if you play it on a premium square.) Also any player who uses that blank title also gains the three points extra.

If you play with the star tiles it’s a bit different. You have two options for using the star tiles. The first one is to reload and play. When it’s your turn, before placing any tiles, place one star tile out of play. Then exchange one or more of your tiles as you would in the classic game. Plus you can still take your turn. Option two is you can block and save. In this block and save option, at the end of your turn (after scoring and before reloading your rack), place a star tile on any empty space on the board. It will now prevent any opponent from playing a tile on that square, until you can play later.

These new rules lead to further challenges. It definitely puts a new spin on a classic game we all know and love. I love how I don’t have to miss out on points or using words that are on my mind now like I did in the Classic SCRABBLE.

SCRABBLE also now has a School SCRABBLE Club for schools to take part in some national school challenges. Now kids are going to gain the benefit of learning spelling, math, and other skills using SCRABBLE in their classrooms. It’s a totally awesome program and one I hope many schools will take part in. So, if your school isn’t a part of this awesome club, you may want to mention it to them.

  1. I didn’t play Scrabble often when I was younger. Now, I love it! Such a challenging game and the game can cause quite an argument defending a word, lol 🙂
