Struggling Houses of Worship Get a ‘Faith Lift’ In the New National Geographic Channel Series CHURCH RESCUE

Three Business-Savvy Ministers Help Religious Leaders Make Practical, Common-Sense Changes That Free Them Up to Spread the Good Word

New Series Premieres Monday, November 11, at 10 PM ET/PT on

the National Geographic Channel

From the Press:

CHURCH RESCUE is in many ways like Extreme Home Makeover – except instead of rebuilding homes, these guys are rebuilding churches. The show follows “The Church Hoppers”, a team of ministers specializing in helping struggling sanctuaries get back on their feet. After being contacted by pastors looking for a helping hand, The Church Hoppers dig deep to uncover the church’s problems and then provide them with solutions – a faith lift if you will ☺ Over the course of the first season we’ll get to know The Hoppers as they answer their calling to revitalize churches across America inside and out.

The Premiere showing is being repeated on November 18 at 6pm EST on National Geographic Channel. So, you won’t miss any of the action that has already taken place.

My Review

I got to preview this show in a prescreening, and I must say it is definitely drama filled. I wasn’t expecting to see the drama that unfolded when I watched it. I use to watch Extreme Home Makeover and shows like it a lot, and it was all about the reconstruction of the home.

I think CHURCH RESCUE is actually getting to the heart of the matters far more than they are focusing on the church restoration itself. Of course, I’ve always been raised to believe that a church is not a building, but rather the people in it! The people in a church are what makes the difference.

I personally believe in that theory a lot. I see these three ministers making a difference in the lives of these churches. They are shaking things up in a dramatic way. I love that we get to take part on this journey with these churches getting a sense of restored faith.

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.

  1. I set my DVR to record this series, not really sure if I’ll like it. Truly hoping it goes beyond remodeling to inspiring people to dig deeper in their own church life!
