Big City Animals™ Boston Bernie Snaps the City App Review

Sponsored post

Out of all the subjects that I teach my kids, I would have to say that teaching the children how to read has got to be the hardest thing to teach them. Through the years, we’ve used many different methods for teaching our kids. We have used ALL kinds of programs/systems to teach them how to read the MOST. When we got the chance to review the new Big City Animal™ Boston Bernie Snaps the City App in exchange for an honest blog review we were quite interested.

What makes the Big City Animal™ Boston Bernie Snaps the City App so unique is the fact that kids learn new vocabulary, geography, and history in a fun and engaging manner. Bernie, the cat, is on a mission to take the best photos of the city of Boston. Throughout this story, kids learn fun and interesting details about various places throughout Boston. This app even prompts adults reading this story with ideas and ways to share any family stories they may have in connection with Boston or other city/places like it.

I love the fact that this app comes with the option to choose to have the book read to you or to have the reader read it by themselves. This way I don’t have to read the book a thousand times to my children. Since my kids love music with a passion, the fact that they get a theme song included with the app is a benefit. The pictures are well done and keep Zeva very interested in continuing to read the book.

Big City Animal™ Boston Bernie Snaps the City App is available for iTunes iPads with iOS 6.0 or later and Amazon for $1.99. This app is a for any preschool age children you may have in your family.

You can also connect with Big City Animal™ folks on Facebook, YouTube, and their website.

What is your favorite app to use to help your child learn to read better?

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.
