Wonderful Saturday…

This has been a wonderful Saturday for us. It really wasn’t anything extra wonderful that we did per say, but it was the fact that we were together. After having the boys in school, being able to have our family together was extremely nice. Maybe, I’m harping on it because I’m soon going to be working again (just have to work out the final details, and I’m going to be a working Mom again.)

However, I treasure my time with my family. I’ve been spoiled at being able to be with them 24/7 for the past three years. Most people would get tired of being with their family that much, but I never did. Yes, there was definitely days when we wanted to pull each other’s hair out along with our own, but that’s typical family drama. As my mom once put it, if you don’t argue, then someone isn’t telling the other person how they truly feel and that will only lead to worse problems in the end (and she was definitely right about that one!!)

We enjoyed a trip to Lowe’s where we planned out our next set of big projects that we are going to work on in the near future (provided the other major thing that is going on in our life reaches the finish line.) I totally enjoyed that aspect of it because I’ve been itching to dig into transforming some more details in our house. It’s just an old cinder block house with lots of potential, but it’s slowly but surely getting there. Over the past going on six years, Del has been doing a lot of odd and an end changes to it, and I’m gaining more and more pride in the place. However, this project is totally my domain and I’m so excited about it. I’ve told Del that I wanted to put it off until we had the funds that I could truly get what I wanted done and have it last!!! I’ll be writing about it when the time comes and hopefully posting decent pictures to go with it. 🙂

Then the kids and I rode our bikes and played a few games of pool. We are now relaxing and hanging out doing our own things. The boys are both extremely tired from the long week of school and spending last night with their grandparents. So, I imagine they are going to want to call it a night soon. 🙂 Honestly, this is my favorite time of the day for us because we’re always winding down for the day, getting baths over with, dinner out of the way, and then hanging out either playing games (both board or video games), watching a movie (usually cuddled in some form or fashion), or reading together.

It’s always about the little things in life that make it special. I’m going to miss being a part of all the little things that happen at home. However, I’m looking forward to the freedom that having me back at work will give us. There are always pros and cons in life. It’s always about making the best decision for your family not only for the current but for the long haul.

What is your favorite thing about a normal day???
