Tropical Islands That Are Affordable for Families

Travelling to a tropical island sounds exotic and expensive but there are plenty of affordable options for families to choose from. You can usually book all inclusive vacations that include your airfare, accommodations, and even food so that you only have to budget for any shopping or extra excursions that you may choose to do. If you just want to lie on the beach, play some beach sports, swim in the sea, snorkel, and snack on freshly caught and prepared seafood and relax than these are the perfect places for you and your family.

Jamaica

Jamaica is still one of the most inexpensive places to go for a tropical beach vacation. Montego Bay is a great place to stay and it is filled with beach resorts and a very popular destination. Take a trip into Kingston to check out the Bob Marley museum and the Blue Mountains. Be sure to go snorkeling in the lush blue waters and check out the waters that are teaming with fish, turtles and other fascinating creatures. If it is your dream to see one of the many famous waterfalls that Jamaica is known for in the many movies that have been filmed here you can head to Savanna-La-Mar or Santa Cruz.

Zanzibar

Zanzibar is off the coast of Tanzania in Eastern Africa and it is a paradise for travellers looking to explore pristine white beaches and gem coloured water. Unguja, is the main island and a visit to Stone Town, a historical site, is a must for visitors to Zanzibar who want to learn more about the culture of the area. The northern villages Nungwi and Kendwa are filled with beaches and suitable hotels for visitors of all ages.

Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands are composed of three islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. There are plenty of inter island flights available and travel is reasonably affordable. You can also take private boats between Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Grand Cayman is where most of the accommodations are and it is a great place to stay, relax on the beach and get some snorkeling in. Cayman Brac is a must as a launching point for anyone interested in deep sea fishing and Little Cayman is an ecological dream where you can visit with a diverse assortment of wildlife from red footed boobies to rare and endangered iguanas, snakes as well as many interesting insects.

Dominican Republic

Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is a great place for families looking for all inclusive resorts. The area is also known for its beaches and its golf courses and it is a 32 km stretch of beautiful white beaches that are great for water sports such as snorkeling, sailing, and kayaking. They are also great for just lying back and relaxing in the warm sun. You can charter boats if you are interested in deep sea fishing. Hurricane Season is from June to late November so it is best to go at a different time of year.
