The Good Wife Book Review

It’s time for my Sunday book recommendation. First I want to say Happy Father’s Day to all the awesome father’s out there.  I had the pleasure of talking to mine today for the first time in a long time and it was really nice to play catch up. Hopefully this time next year, I’ll be sharing pictures of time spent with him. Even though he’s only 3 hours away, it’s still hard to find the means to get together with our economy the way it is. Not to mention how hectic our lives can be, and when you think about a six hour road trip total it gets to be a bit overwhelming.

Now on to the book review for the week. This week I’ve been reading The Good Wife (A Brennan Sisters Novel) by Jane Porter. This book is about a wife who is married to a professional baseball player. It covers how this type of lifestyle affects their marriage and relationships around them. I related to main character, Sarah, because at one point Del was over the road and was gone for three weeks at a time. It put a huge strain on our marriage.

I’ve always been told that it takes a heck of a wife to married to someone who is gone for any length of time, and I can’t agree more. I’ll personally NEVER be strong enough for that. I have too many insecurities that come out to haunt me when there is too much distance placed between me and my husband. Porter expressed some of those insecurities in this book, but Sarah was able to reign in those feelings.

I’m NOT!! I literally start to go insane and my mind loses total utter control. It rips me apart. I’m so utterly thankful that Del is working from home again.

This made my heart break for all the wives that have to endure their husbands being gone. I never know what to say to those who have to deal with it. I love how the women stuck together in Army Wives and they gained a close knit relationship with each other. I was always in total awe over how well those women carried themselves in the show, and still maintained their marriages.

So, if you’re looking for a good read then I suggest you pick up The Good Wife ir?t=tidbitofexp 20&l=as2&o=1&a=B00BC24NAS. It’s one of those books that makes you treasure your marriages and your family.
