What Brings You Joy Into Your Life?

The SITS Girls have given us some writing prompts for post ideas for the month of July. We thought it would be fun to give them a try. After all, we’re all about sharing simply sharing our life with you. I hope you enjoy going a long for the ride this month with us. You can check out the rest of them under the SITSGirls prompts section of the blog.

The Question

“What brings joy into your life?”

The Answer

Me= This is a trick question! Life in general brings me joy.

Crystal=Honestly, I love my family, my friends, my animals, and nature in general. I love the fact that I get to watch the most beautiful of sunsets right from my front yard. I love going to my best friend’s house and enjoying her bird sanctuary she has in her back yard where all of the wild birds come to eat. (One day I hope to have one in my own yard!)

I love that I have been blessed with the chance to redo my life in a sense after my last car accident. I am finally where I feel God wants me to be in my life.

I believe in life being a blessing. I think too many people take it for granted. To me life is everything around me. It’s my family, it’s what I do with my time, and what is done to me.

Hi, I'm Dale. Some of the things I like to do are box, lift weights, and spend time with my beautiful wife Crystal. I also enjoy watching shows on Netflix or playing video games with my son when I can find some free time.

  1. As I get older, I have learned to appreciate the joy of simple things like the smell of the beach, cold lemonade and watching my dog play.

    • My wife loves to read a lot too. I told her to take a day off from working yesterday and her eyes were glued to her Kindle.

  2. We went for a bike ride today — just my husband, my youngest son (10 — the only child left at home now) and me. I rode ahead because I was the “pace car” for the group.

A moment happened that took my breath away. I was feeling the sun on my face, and the warm breeze in my hair, and enjoying the deep green of the summer leaves on either side of the road, with a deep blue sky behind them. I could hear my guys chatting behind me. At that moment, I just felt the most incredible peace and joy.

    Yeah, it’s stuff like that…

    • Those are some pretty special moments. I get the whole riding the bike thing because I use to ride my bike well over 18 miles one way to go see Crystal when we were dating.
