January Biannual Blog-A-Thon Event 2016

Today kicks off the Biannual Blogathon Bash. I look forward to this event twice a year every year. There is always something to learn and I completely enjoy interacting with other bloggers. Plus this year there are some pretty good sponsors offering up some nice prizes for being active with the blog-a-thon event.

Since the beginning of the year I have been striving to make corrections to old posts and even getting rid of some of the posts that aren’t worth keeping. I want this blog to have a more uniform look to it. I also want it to start to be about particular topics only. Granted, I do love sharing tidbits of information on a wide range of topics, but it’s become pretty evident which topics matter the most to me through the years of doing this. In February, we will have had this blog for four years. It’s been a LONG hard road to learning what works and what doesn’t in the blogging industry. Even as I learn things, I’m finding that there is always change right around the next corner!

I had a brilliant idea for a course that I was actually in the process of making. Low and behold someone else created the same exact thing and is already selling hers. I have only mentioned my idea to a handful of people and I don’t know if she was one of them, but regardless, great minds think alike. I also am a firm believer that we may have the same idea, but there is only ONE of me. I just don’t like the idea of us both having the same idea and us both being fresh on the market with the same thing. Life happens, though! Mine won’t be finished for a couple of weeks.

Currently, like I stated I’m going through an editing old post and giving them fresh life. I’m also making my course in the background. I have been making landing pages for all of my major topics. I have also been doing some serious keyword searching to get prepared to create and share better content that will actually GIVE my readers something in return for their time spent here.

I look forward to seeing what all the Biannual Blogathon Bash produces this year. If you are a blogger, I highly encourage you to sign up and join in on the action. I won’t be as actively chatty as I normally am because I have to work this year too. However, I will do my best to be a part of it as much as possible.

See you throughout the events!

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.

    • Thank you. I am sure I’ll be into blogging for a long time. However, I’ve learned a lot through the years! The more I learn the more I see where I messed up with this blog. However, you live and you learn right. 🙂

Thank you for stopping by every event. I’d love to see you more than that! 🙂

  1. I’m still trying to update old posts too, it’s a neverending battle it seems. I’m sorry that another blogger got her course out first. I got an email today from an author who wrote a book along the same lines of what I would want to write about someday. Oh well, only one of me too. I understand. Good luck with the Blogathon, this is the first day I’ve actually been able to blog but at least I got my planner post done!
