How To Be A Mom And Have A Career

Being a Mother is a truly magical experience that no one can take away from you. It’s a life that you’ve managed to create, and then grown inside of you for nine long months. The craziest moment of all is that you walk into a hospital alone, and come out with another soul, and that’s something that can’t be truly appreciated until it’s happened to you. Having said that, it doesn’t mean that it’s not going to get hard – really hard at the times – because it will. You will be faced with things that you won’t believe you are capable of doing, like those sleepless nights where your baby just doesn’t want to drift off. It’s times like that were your whole being will be tested, and it’s up to you to carry on.

So the idea of ever being able to have a job through this seems to be absurd as there’s just so much else going on… Or is it? You should never feel as though you’re forced to give up on your dream just because you’ve decided to start a family. If you put your mind to it, you can do both, you just need to learn how to balance and manage your time.

Here’s how you can make anything possible.

Go to school

You’re probably thinking that this is absolutely impossible, but wait for it – you don’t even need to leave the house in order to get your degree. If there’s something that you know you want to do, and know what kind of qualifications you’ll need to be considered, hit the internet and find a whole array of online fnp degree courses to cater to what you require. The great thing about this is the fact that it’s all virtual, so if your little one has fallen asleep on you, or is crawling around the room playing with some toys – you can just pick up your computer and do a bit of studying, and if you feel as though you’re getting overwhelmed, just stop and take a break. It’s completely flexible to suit your lifestyle and circumstances.

Start dreaming

A lot of people tend to associate dreams with things that will never come true, that are only in fantasy land, but this is far from the truth. If there’s something that you’ve always wanted to do – regardless of what that is – you should go for it. It’s scary putting yourself out there like that, but that’s the only way anything is going to change. Do your research about the industry and look at all the things you are expected to have done in order to ever be considered. Once you know this information, you’ll be one step closer to making things become a reality. Also remember that a lot of the time it’s not what you know, it’s who you know. So always be on the lookout for any potential links that can help you out.

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.
