Hot Or Not An App of Interaction

Hot Or Not is a new dating app that on iTunes that is for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch for free that allows you to go through and connect with other people from your area. You connect it with your Facebook page and it will retrieve your pictures from it. Then people will go through and choose whether or not they think that you’re cute. I did it not realizing that it would actually CONNECT me with others in my area who actually want to meet me.

I went through and started clicking on the hearts of the guys I thought were hot.  I was giving it a full fledged run for the money. Now mind you, I’m no longer little and have little to no self-esteem left when it comes to my looks. I didn’t figure ANYONE would think I’m ‘hot’ back.

Yes, Del knew I was reviewing this app and what all it involved. In fact, I did have a guy respond back to me stating he wanted to connect. I was totally blown away by that fact! We started chatting right there on the app. He wanted to meet me. I was quick to tell him I was married and why I even was using the app.

The app gives out your location so that if someone is close to you and wants to meet up with you they can. He was really cool about it and started to chat with both of us. So, I personally feel that this app can be used as more than just meeting fellow singles. After all, we get to see what a person’s interests and likes are from their profiles. Plus we also get find people close to us who have similar interests. (Of course, it would probably end up being blamed for causing divorces like Facebook because people wouldn’t use it the right way.)

There are some people who do put some pictures that can be really close to overly revealing in their profiles, but if you’re in the market for a date some people care more about chemistry than anything else. (I know at one point I was in the same position, but I had the looks to go with that mentality too.)

This is actually a fun app. I can see why it’s such a popular app or it should be even more than it is. I do believe it’s a great way to find your next date/friend. You can gain more information on their website. You can also connect with them on Facebook.

Have you used this app?

  1. This sounds like an interesting way of meeting people. I think it could hurt people’s feelings by being judged though! It’s cool that you met someone who was interested in chatting with you and your husband! 🙂

    • I have to agree about it hurting people’s feelings. However, I never did find out a rating of any kind on my profile. Of course, I didn’t play around with it a whole lot because I didn’t want to give off the impression that I was really LOOKING for a man to play with. However, I made sure Del had some fun looking through the woman that were using the APP too.

  2. My friends and I sometimes use hot or not when we are looking for a little entertainment. My new favorite is a dating app called Tinder, which is super similar to Hot or Not but you go on with the intention of dating. Much better than match.com!

    • I’ve never heard of Tinder. Sounds like fun. I can honestly see why Hot or Not would be a great form of entertainment if you’re single.

  3. Have not used it, been with my Mark since we were kids. But I know lots of young people like it…and sounds fun for them.

    • I got to have a bit of fun with it to review it. Luckily the guy who did try to connect was easy going and had no problem with switching gears and talking to my husband. I have deleted the app out of respect for my husband. However, it was definitely fun. I do honestly see the potential for just making friends. Yet, in our society today though, I don’t think my being married would stop a guy from trying to tempt me. I don’t want to put myself in a position that is not right.
