Dad uses Facebook to teach daughter a lesson

Dad uses Facebook to teach daughter a lesson: A 15-year-old puts up a Facebook post bashing her parents for making her work too hard, dad reacts by posting a video response to her grievances on her Facebook page.

This is a good video. We NEED more parents like this!!! Our kids are the future of America. If they don’t know responsibility then how in the world are we suppose to keep things in order. We all have to do our part to keep our rights and privileges. Everyone gripes about the government getting to involved in our personal lives. However, there are so many people expecting the government to take care them when the parents stop doing it.

I personally have had to use government assistance in my life, but each time I’ve done it. I can honestly say that I’ve made my life better in some form or fashion while I was on it. I’ve either obtained a new better paying job or obtained my degree. The government assistance should be for people who are trying to get back on their feet after something happened they couldn’t avoid. There are way to many people who are not doing their part and WORKING. It DOES start at home with us teaching our kids early in life that NOTHING WORTH HAVING COMES EASY. I did chores from the time I was 7 years old (I was taking care of animals since I was 2.) It ONLY HELPED me in my life.

I get told often that I should let my kids be kids more. I’m sorry, but I’m NOT guaranteed tomorrow. I also saw what happens when a child is spoiled all of their lives and not made to do anything productive. I refuse to take the chance on my kids future (and my retirement life for that matter) and just let them be spoiled and play all of their lives.

I guess that’s why I’m glad we home school as well. I get to show my kids all the things that it takes to run a household. They get to physically see their Daddy and Granddaddy work (and with some small easy tasks, they help out too.) They also get to physically see their parents do school work. I’m especially proud of my husband for working LONG HARD days and still doing college work and staying on the President or Dean’s list. Our kids will know the value of a dollar and they will also know working is something that is expected of them. I’m NOT hurting or depriving my kids. I’m teaching them how they are suppose to do proper productive time management.

I can’t tell you how many times I had to go into “Parent mode” while I was a manager because I’d get these 20-year-old people who had NO work ethic of any kind. The ones that were worth anything got their act together and the others either quit or got fired because they couldn’t handle the tasks I asked of them. We did always end up with a great TEAM by the time I was done. TEAM is preached in many companies, but I don’t see it actually being put into practice. We as a whole get farther working together than we do trying to “look out for NUMBER 1.”

This video is well worth watching and sharing with our kids. It lets our kids know that we are NOT the only parents that believe in this stuff. It’s NOT abuse to make our kids do chores. It’s teaching them the realities of life. Plus when they help out we get to have more time with them doing family things.

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.
