Love Irresistibly by Julie James Book Review

This book is one that I rented from my library. You can even check out my image on my Instagram page for proof. (While you’re there, please follow me.) Hence, why one of my favorite series is Suits. I knew it had to be a romance story about some arrogant man of power finally meeting his match.

I was right! There was more to the overall story than just a handsome man in a suit meeting an equally smart beautiful business savvy woman. There was drama from both of their pasts that was interfering with their present ability to form a meaningful relationship with others. It was simpler to have short meaningless sexual flings (not just one night stands, but those friends with benefits type of relationships that last for three-six months.)

If you know anything about me from my past, then you know that I have always been the go-getter type of person. I also managed to turn heads wherever I went without asking for their attention. I had great ambitions, and put work ahead of anything else. As a result, I can relate to Brooke’s character in this book. It’s easy to feel like you don’t have time for a real relationship even when in reality that is what you long for the most despite the fact that you don’t want to admit it out loud.

Cade is also of a very similar mindset. He wants to keep things simple and easy. However, the more time he spends with Brooke the more he can’t do that.

I’ve mentioned before that even when both adults “try” to keep things from becoming emotional when sex is involved it’s really hard to not have it happen. Of course, Cade and Brooke did take some of their time outside of the sack too. (This book is not all about sex in case you’re wondering. There is actually very little sex scenes in it.)

I would recommend anyone who can appreciate this type of romantic story to read [easyazon_link identifier=”0425251195″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]Love Irresistibly (Fbi/Us Attorney)[/easyazon_link] . If you are of the judgement that love can’t happen like this, then you won’t appreciate it. It’s a good and easy read for when you’re traveling or just trying to take a break from it all.

What is your favorite kind of male character to read about in a romance?

  1. A favorite kind of male character to read about in a romance novel is probably like this book or the popular Nicholas Sparks books.

    • The man in The Notebook reminds me of Del. He has loved me and taken on all of the challenges in order to get me. He still would give up everything if it meant making me happy. Which, I would never want him to do that in a million years.
