What types of music do kids really listen to? Who has the influence on the music?
My son came up to my wife and said, “Mommy you remind me of a song, but I don’t want to offend you.”
You could literally see her wheels turning in her head thinking… “What song could my son possibly be thinking of when it comes to me?”
She advised him to go ahead and tell her.
He sheepishly said, “I like big butts and I can not lie.”
She responded, “That is actually a compliment to me.”
He turned all smiles because he always aims to make her happy.
We thought that was the end of it. Until…
My wife got up…
Next thing we know we hear our oldest son, screaming at the top of his lungs in perfect harmony to the original song…

He didn’t remember all of the words to the song thank goodness. However, it did make me wonder. I have this song along with many others in my collection. I didn’t honestly think he was paying MY OLD music any attention. We were in for a surprise to find out otherwise.
This has become a family joke now. We pick on him for singing that song to her.
