This movie was far better than I had figured it would be. I had to do a history report on Abraham Lincoln when I was a teenager and grew quite fond of him as a president back then. I believe I was fond of him because I hated the idea of slavery. I’m glad I didn’t live during a time when it was common place.

I love the fact that this movie manages to give some interesting perspective to some part of history. It had some amazing actresses and actors in it as well, which peaked my involvement in the movie even more. The way they portrayed Abraham Lincoln was remarkable. I feel that this movie will definitely help many students have a better understanding of Abraham Lincoln and his role in our history as  we know it.

I do feel that all men are created equal and should be treated as such. I’m glad that slavery is no longer active in United States. I do also feel that everyone should be handed the freedoms that others receive.

I do recommend this movie for families to watch together and discuss it even further once it’s over. It definitely lead to greater conversations in our home.
