I mentioned how date night sometimes gets put off to another night due to lack of being able to find something to watch when it’s in between TV show seasons. While we were flipping through Netflix to find something to watch one night, we came across Grey’s Anatomy, but I wasn’t in the mood to start watching it then. It did lead to me searching out my other top 5 TV medical drama shows from my TV viewing years.
However, the other night Crystal was bored and seemed a bit down. I remembered she had mentioned in passing that she wanted to start watching Grey’s Anatomy again from the beginning and finish out whatever was available to watch since we saw it while flipping through Netflix trying to find something to watch. I decided to go ahead and see if she wanted to start watching it last night.
I forgot how good this series is for both of us. It is an LOT of fun to get wrapped up with a series with Crystal because we have long nightly sessions of watching many of the shows until we can’t keep our eyes open. It makes for great moments of laughter and a lot of extra fun too. Plus, it tends to make us feel like we are young teenagers with no other cares in the world but spending time together.
I thought this would be a good thing to share with you. Some of you are old enough to remember some of these and some of you are the same age as my wife and think we’re talking about a whole different generation of shows. Which in a way we are!
My top 5 TV medical drama shows from my viewing years in no certain order are:
- ER
- House
- Grey’s Anatomy
- Miami Medical
- Doogie Howser, M.D.
These shows are all available on Netflix in either instant play and/or DVD form. I have many other medical shows that I have enjoyed watching too. However, I wanted to ensure that you could get them off of Netflix.
What are your top five TV medical dramas that you enjoy watching?
I never watched any of those…for some reason I never got into medical dramas (probably because it was my actual life at the time)
I can understand that. Grey’s Anatomy is more of a romance drama in my book, but it has enough of a medical aspect to it to keep me interested in watching it with Crystal.
Oh wow, I didn’t know ER was on Netflix. Gonna check it out!
I was disappointed that it’s not available in the instant form, but I get DVDs in the mail so I can still watch them.
Doogie!!! I use to watch that show! lol
I did too. Come to find out Crystal had a crush on him growing up. Now I love to point out that her crush on him was in vain.
My husband loves ER! Is it available for live streaming or DVD?
I watched all of them and am currently watching Grey’s! One of my favorite shows. I’ll have to watch ER again on Netflix (I loved it that much)!
ER is unfortunately only available in DVD version at this point. Many people have been requesting them to add it in instant form.
I haven’t actually watched any of those shows! I have heard good things about House though – maybe I should try that one out.
I love Netflix! I will have to check out Doogie Howser, MD on there real soon. I loved that show!
House brings back a lot of memories. My husband was crazy for that show. Great list!
I haven’t heard of Miami Medical, but have watched all the others.
One of my favorite medical shows is Scrubs! It’s not really a drama – more like a comedy – but it’s a good one.
My favorite medical drama was Emily Owens, M.D.! I still get drepressed about it getting cancelled when I think about it!
