Prevent Moving Blues

Moving is never easy. It requires so much time packing things. Let’s not even talk about organizing things. There are some pretty amazing moving companies that are trained to do this type of work for us. Plus they can do it in a manner in which it’s easy for us to unpack our stuff. That’s why we always work with relocation experts now.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go from room to room and just put things away? In my book it definitely would make moving more of a pleasure than the monster ready to drain me dry. I personally would love the chance to go through and start from scratch and put my house in order.

When I moved in with Del I didn’t take the time to organize any of my belongings. As a result, many things got ruined in our move. I also ended up not moving a lot of items that I had planned on keeping. I learned my lesson the hard way. I lost so many pictures it’s not even funny. I also lost all of my journals that I had planned to my first born when she was an adult to hopefully help her understand better how I felt. Now it’s hard to put into words how I felt at those times because I’m not living with those same feelings anymore.

I’d love to have more order to our home now. Del and I keep talking about things we’d love to do to our home. Yet, there always seems something more pressing that needs tending to than our home. We’ve done a lot to it though over the past five years. I believe we’re probably going to be just remodeling this house one room at a time. After that, who knows? Maybe we’ll hire some movers again (like these guys: http://www.youmoveme.com/ca/oakville) and move again.

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.

    • That’s an excellent point! I have definitely done that as well in my moving adventures. My husband has us go through our house twice a year and we decide if we’re keeping things, putting them up for sale, or throwing them away room by room.
