I started to do a huge reply back to my wonderful reader who commented on the last blog post I made, but then decided that I should just list off all the things that have been a life saver for me with Zeva. Every mother wonders what she’s truly going to NEED when they are going to have a baby.
I know even though Zeva was my third and final baby, I still felt at a loss because it’d been over FOUR years since we had Delbert. Plus I had NEVER been able to stay home with my babies past their one month birthday. So, knowing that I was going to be the one taking care of Zeva primarily that definitely put me on the hunt for what I needed to take care of her along with the boys.
So, I’ve compiled a list of all the things that have made my life so much easier since we’ve had her. Every mother who has more than one child knows that you can’t have your hands full of baby all the time. I am not overly fond of having Zeva attached to my hips or in my arms all the time. I want her to be independent as soon as possible. (Not because I don’t love being needed or wanted or even spending time with her..it’s because I’ve learned that the sooner a child is independent the sooner that they feel they have the confidence to conquer new and sometimes difficult tasks.) So…here’s my list of my “little” life savers:
Johnsons Baby Bedtime Bath, Lavender and Chamomile – 9 oz– I’ve wrote a blog about this before, but I don’t remember which post exactly I put it in. This product has been such a life saver with ALL of my babies!! Anytime they were fussy and fighting sleep (I’d only do it at night!) I’d give them a nice warm bath with this stuff in it and I’d get a nice decent night sleep. Trust me that is a true treasure!! Zeva is currently in her new room and has yet to sleep through a whole night since we moved her. However, I expected it to happen because I don’t do well in new surroundings.
Baby Trend Snap-N-Go Universal Infant Car Seat Carrier has become a wonderful life saver!! It lives in our vehicle because I use it almost EVERY time we go off!!! When I first got it I didn’t even know what it was, but a friend of mine who has five kids swore by it and said I would love it. Well, let me tell you she was 110% right. This is so light weight I can fold it or unfold it one handed, and I just pluck her in her car seat on it and push her around. The boys can operate it too with ease. It even handles going down dirt roads with ease.
Fisher-Price Infant to Toddler Rocker, Princess Mouseis a wonderful product. Zeva has spent so many hours in this seat it’s unreal. The boys were able to help me with her as I was cooking meals, or other Mommy jobs without me being afraid of her getting hurt. It plays music, and allowed her to be able to see everything and be a part of the world around her. She used it from like a month old until she was 8 months old. Now it is not used at all, but we got more than our moneys worth out of buying it.
You definitely need a baby carrier as well. I’ve heard that the Moby wraps are the best, but I’ve used the same one for all of my kids and it is no longer on the market.
-baby tub
-huge towels (the nice thick ones are nice.) They are cheaper than baby towels with hoodies.
-baby washclothes
-bottles different sizes and try to get a few different brands if you can find them. With each child I’ve had, I’ve had to find a bottle that they will like.
-bottle cleaner (2)
-several crib sheets
-clothes in several different sizes. (thrift stores, yard sells, craiglist, and Facebook groups are your best friend.) Babies grow out of sizes so quick!! Zeva skipped 6-9 months.
-rattles of all kinds
-if you decide to use pacifiers might I suggest that you get

Those are just SOME of the big items that I suggest you invest in. They all have played a major role in making our lives so much better. (No, none of the companies for these products are paying me to write this stuff in any form.)
Hey there I’m your newest follower from the CHQ blog hop! I would love for you to stop by and follow back 😉
