Anyone who knows me, knows that I believe in God with every ounce of my being. I also do my fair share of trying to persuade someone to believe in him as well. I am not against having a serious heart to heart discussion about my belief in him. However, this book made me feel like I was literally being “preached at” the entire time I was reading it.
The author made some very valid points please don’t get me wrong. I totally agree with him that our educational system has gone down the pits. I may have this strong belief because I spent from the time I was in the 5th grade until my freshman year in college (the first time I went right out of high school) preparing to become a teacher. That was until I actually had the great pleasure of teaching, and that all changed because I found out just how much our educational system doesn’t really want us to “teach” the kids about life skills and educational matters. Instead we are suppose to “pacify” the kids and attempt to teach them.
I home school my kids because our kids were not being taught a dang thing educationally speaking. Instead they were being taught how to be even more aggressive than the boys “already naturally” were to start with. I won’t even go down the road of the disrespect they tried to bring home after not being forced to show their teachers or any other adult at the school respect. The author points this out along with many other things about our school systems. I was quite surprised by some of the things he mentioned in the book.
He also talked about other things going wrong in our country. It was an eye opener for someone like who doesn’t usually pay the news attention anymore quite frankly because it’s rather depressing and at times scary to watch the news anymore.
This book did manage to keep my attention once he started talking about our educational systems. From that point on it was a good thing I had it as an e-book and could take with me wherever I went because I read it every second I had.
Even if your against God, you can read this book and argue your point of view as a challenge.
