Diabetes or diabetes mellitus represents an increased level of sugar in the blood. We can easily notice diabetes by increased urination and increased appetite. Patients with this disease can have acute complications including diabetic ketoacidosis and nonketotic hyperosmolar coma. In case of long-term diabetes, a person can have issues with heart, kidneys, eyes as well as foot ulcers.
We can differentiate few types of diabetes: children diabetes (until 14 years), juvenile diabetes (from 15 to 24 years), adult diabetes (from 25 to 64) and geriatric diabetes (from 65 until the end of life). Besides this, we can also make another classification: endocrine diabetes, connected to disease of endocrine gland, exocrine pancreatic diabetes, in connection with pancreas diseases, diabetes induced by drugs or diabetes caused by liver disease. The most common risk factors are obesity and high body mass, viral infections, high consumption of sugar based products, not enough physical activity, stress and history of diabetes in the family.
Three Categories of Diabetes
There are three basic categories of diabetes: type one, type two and diabetes during pregnancy. The first one is the most severe type of diabetes, caused because pancreas cells either produce small quantities of insulin or none whatever. It can appear at any age, but it is usually present in children and youth. It is necessary to administer insulin therapy from day one. Strict control of children, as well as physical activity, is a necessary part of therapy. Although medicine from some CIPA pharmacy, such as you! Drugstore is necessary, physical activity and healthy life is the right way to deal with this condition.
Most Common Type of Diabetes
Diabetes type two is the most common type of diabetes in the world. People with this disease still can produce insulin but not in adequate quantity, so the body develops natural immunity to the insulin hormone. It is common for all age, but it is usually present in people that are older than 40 years, obese people and elderly. Similarly to type one, a good part of the prevention lies in a change of living habits. It is necessary to change your diet and to use oral anti-diabetics, as well as an herbal tea as additional assistance. Together with physical activity, it is possible to treat diabetes type two efficiently. If this doesn’t help, there is always an option to use insulin together with oral anti-diabetics.
Besides these two types, diabetes can appear during pregnancy, so-called gestational diabetes. Furthermore, pregnancy activates it by changing the hormonal balance in woman body. This leads to disturbance in the secretion of insulin and thus, a higher value of glucose in the blood. The most critical group consists of women above 25 who were obese before the pregnancy, especially those with a genetic affinity for the development of the disease. Upon birth, the level of sugar in the blood is stabilized. Unfortunately, women who had diabetes during pregnancy can easily develop diabetes type two later during life.
Best way to deal with any type of diabetes is to lead a healthy life. This way, many problems which can lead to diabetes can be prevented even before this disease appears for the first time.
What steps are you taking to prevent diabetes from happening?
I have a family member that was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Since then I’ve noticed more when people are speaking about diabetes, and it seems like everyone I know either has it themselves or knows someone that does. Your post was very informative, yet straight to the point and easy to understand. Thank you for sharing this useful information on a disease that is so common in our country!
Diabetes is becoming a big issue across America. Many people do not realize how much our society is changing.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I hope to see you again soon.
My SIL was born with diabetes and had a long struggle with it throughout her life that was shortened because of it.
I had to deal with gestational diabetes with Zeva, but otherwise I’ve managed to avoid it. I hope to continue to do so. I am sorry to hear about your SIL’s struggle with it!
I am afraid that my eldest son ages 14 but his size doesn’t tell because he gotten so big unnoticeably, has diabetes. Perhaps, you will notice the big difference when you’re not together for how long. This cause me angst, I don’t even give him allowance to control his eating habits but it only got worst. For the mentime, I put ashwagandha powder mixed in to his meals to combat diabetes. He’s too young to be diagnosed with this health condition. Thus, regular exercise and healthy diet with consistency is the best treatment.
