Dealing With the Cold Weather with #NetflixKids

I am a part of the Netflix Stream Team, but that in no way shaped my opinion of Netflix or any movies I may watch. I have been an active member of Netflix for YEARS, and sought out being a part of their team.

It’s been extremely cold in our neck of the woods, like it has been across many parts of the world lately. Us southerners are no where close to be being use to dealing with cold weather at all. It literally was in the 20s and very low 30’s today here. There was no going outside for enjoyment sake at all.

So, we curled up in the family room again today and watched Netflix all day long literally. There are many different types of shows and movies to choose from to watch together as a family. #NetflixKids is a wonderful way to break the boredom. I personally love watching good family movies often as it is.

Here are some of the good choices worth viewing together:

1. Daddy Day Care
2. Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves
3. Hoodwinked Too!
4. Escape from Planet Earth
5. The Croods [coming to Netflix 1/29!]
6. Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2
7. Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3

You haven’t watched The Croods yet, then you need to mark your calendars to watch it on January 29th! It is well worth watching together. You’ll laugh your heads off in pure delight.

I also wanted to mention another movie that is available to watch via Netflix Stream which is Unconditional. It’s not listed under the Kids movie section, but it is a wholesome movie that everyone can enjoy! Unconditional is about loving others and ourselves unconditionally like God loves us.

There is plenty of drama, but there is also plenty of laughs to keep everyone entertained. My kids and I watched it the other day and we loved it. It left me thinking really hard about the way I love others and myself. It doubly reminded me of God’s love for us and how he will always be here for us through it all.

My absolute favorite part of the whole movie was this one line…,

[Tweet “It’s not a dead end, if it leads you where you were meant to be in the first place. @tidbitsofexperi”]

I had to stop and do a double take on that quote. I’ve been down many roads in my life that I thought were sure to be dead ends. At the time I couldn’t see where it truly benefited me to be in those places/positions, but now when I look back I praise God I was put in those places. This movie just further reminded me of that fact. It reminded me that God uses everything bad for the good in the end.

So, enjoy these cold days curled up with your family members and watch some great family movies together via Netflix. I’m confident you’ll find something you’ll enjoy watching together.

    • I love it. I love checking out Netflix series too. They have some pretty good ones that they’ve aired solely on Netflix. Do you watch shows on Amazon Prime too? They have shows that Netflix doesn’t have at times too.

  1. We have Netflix, and Netflix Kids is ALWAYS on 🙂 My sons watch it on TV, the iPhone app and their iPads…they are addicted, but since they usually watch terrific educational shows, I don’t mind.

  2. I LOVE Netflix. Especially during weather like this. My son watches it on his Kindle Fire when I am working and i have been catching up on Doctor Who and even watched the entire first season of a show called The Fosters in 2 days (not many episodes). Incidentally, I was wondering how you become part of the Netflix Stream team. I have been a member for most of the past 5 years or so and am very interested if you could shoot me an email. 🙂

Either way, I look forward to connecting with you during the Biannual Blogathon Bash this month. 🙂

  3. We love Netflix!! It is amazing having an account that 5 different devices can enjoy, even if one of them is away at college. We are enjoying old television series that we missed out on when they were originally on tv. Hopefully their prices can stay low, even with giants like Verizon going after them. Keeping fingers crossed!! Looking forward to getting to know you better through the SITS Tribe!

    • I look forward to getting to know you through the SITS Tribe too. I will be making my rounds as soon as I can. I will get to it for sure though because I do look forward to connecting with you.

Netflix is a life saver anymore. I could ALMOST get rid of Directv with it.

  4. We love Netflix… especially the teenager. She will sit all afternoon and catch up on a series of Bones or CSI.

  5. We love Netflix, especially since we can access it on our ipad and other wireless devices in the house. We like to catch up on BBC series like Doctor Who.

    • Oh my husband, has been watching Netflix series like crazy lately. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t started on the Doctor Who series since he’s so quick to watch it when it comes on TV. He enjoys that show a lot too.
