Card.com Review – Are They Actually Better Banking?

I was given the chance to review a prepaid Visa card through Card.com. When I got to the site, I honestly had a hard time deciding which type of image I wanted for my credit card. I ended up choosing the Black Dragon image. At the time I signed up that was the only dragon option available. Now they have many other choices in dragon section to choose from that look even better.

Are the card.com reviews accurate?

I must admit I was a bit concerned about being able to use this card anywhere I went with ease. I was pleasantly surprised though that I was able to use it without any complications. I was able treat it like a real credit card. I was expecting to have to dish out a whole bunch of fees for accessing my money. I was happy to be able to report that I didn’t have to worry about that when I used my card at Whole Foods and also with my online purchases either.

There are many features available for this prepaid card system. I’m able to have direct deposits of my paychecks onto the card. I can also transfer money to and from my PayPal account. I can also add funds to and from my regular bank account. There are also several local ATMs to choose from to retrieve my money from.

If you’re needing a credit card, but don’t have the credit to get one, this is a system that may be of interest for you. If you are unable to get a checking account, yet need a place to have your paycheck direct deposited for easy free access to your money, then this is a system that is good for you.   1. Just a warning for anyone wanting to get a “cool” prepaid card from Card.com for any reason…(We got one for James to use since it had the Walking Dead on it). DO NOT I repeat DO NOT get one from them!!! We had $20 a week deposited on it from my husband’s paycheck. Worked fine for about a month. Get a message that the account is frozen, we need to send them copies of our drivers licenses, SIGNED Social Security cards, utility bills and a couple other things. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? For $100 a month prepaid debit card?? No, I really don’t think I’m going to fax you all our personal information. Oh, and when I went to call them back, the phone rang and rang and then said “Google + will connect you” EXCUSE ME??? No, I want to reach a business-not some scam company!!! Stay away from them!!!!

  2. I am currently with Netspend and am looking to find a lesser of two evils prepaid card company. i am hoping that the card.com cards are completely fee free after 800$ unlike Netspend which charges you for every transaction you make even after they upgrade you to their “Premier” status.

  3. Does Card.com offer the get paid up to 2 days earlier with direct deposit like most cards? I thought I read that when I signed up but can’t find it now

    • Hell no! If anything they pay way later. I switched to card.com for my direct deposit and they pay me way later than my bank card. Do not do not do not use this service!

  5. this card is not good at all they have been holding my money hostage for the last two weeks. I had my pay check and tax refund Direct Deposited to this card and they want me to send them a copy of my 1040 State ID and SS card so I can get my money. So I tell them to send my money back to the IRS and my pay check back to my employer they tell me I have to Email Risk to send my money back

    • Same with me ! My money has been held for days now ! I’ve sent over all documents needed 1040, social,I’d, bill everything and still they haven’t done shit the day they can’t get ahold of risk department ! Wtf!

This by far is not the best choice when choosing a prepaid WARNING WARNING don’t use this card company I don’t they are even a real company they will hold your money for weeks at a time and will not found a way to get it to. They have the worstest customer servicer ever they only read off the computer and don’t use there brain for common since thibgs. You also will be on hold over 30min just to talk to a customer service rep

  7. WARNING!!!!!! Stay as far away from this company as you possibly can. Getting this card will be your worse nightmare come true and it will be worse than a nightmare because they will have your money. I lost my card and needed a replacement card and that was back in March of this year and I still haven’t gotten my card. When you call customer service for help all you will get is a bunch of incompetents on the phone to tell you nothing about what’s going on with your money. They don’t have a direct phone line to reach anyone. They can tell you anything about your money and they know nothing. Representatives will tell you all you can do is email card.com for info about your money. What the hell, aren’t I already talking to a card.com representative, answer is no. The company that’s holding your money is a separate entity. You can only reach card.com through email and you still will not get a reply about your money. After I never could get a card mailed to me, I closed my account our and told them to send me a check that was on April 10th and it’s almost May 1st you would think I’d have received a check by now, but no I haven’t and card.com is no longer responding to my emails. I’m at my wits end, If I could sue this worthless company for theft of my money I would. You’ve been forewarned please stay away from this company. Ex customer Demetrice Eirby.

  8. By far the WORST company I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with. After 2 months of NOT receiving a card; and NUMEROUS phone calls. I was fed up. Well, while interacting with their customer service I was treated absolutely HORRIBLE. (Ie; hung up on, yelled at, cursed at, never received a call back from a supervisor, etc). Finally, after deciding to close the account and cut ties with this HORRID company, I called back to verify that the account was closed and that my money was being sent back to the IRS, to which I encountered the sweetest CSR. She was compassionate, and absolutely aware of her companies policies (which is more than I can say about the 12 other CSR’s I encountered.) She informed me that my address was STILL incorrect after calling and changing this AT LEAST 10 times. Which is absolutely ridiculous and UNACCEPTABLE. Had Card.com of hired more people like her, they would probably still have my business. I cut ties based on the way I was treated. As someone that has worked in a Call Center before, I understand the frustrations of being a CSR. However, the consumers are the reason that job is available to begin with, and treating them as dirt is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. Not knowing the policies and protocols are also UNACCEPTABLE.
    This card is an ABSOLUTE scam. I will NEVER refer anyone to use this card. In fact, I will be spending the rest of the day posting my story on EVERY social media site and website having to do with this card and the ungodly customer service that I received. I am absolutely HORRIFIED by this company (excluding Kirra: she was awesome). I will also be contacting the BBB and directly referring to your customer service department. Absolutely unacceptable. I do not want ANY contact from card.com unless it is done so directly through corporate.

HATE HATE HATE THIS COMPANY I HA 50 DOLLARS DIRECT DEPOSITED ONTO THE STUPID CARD THE NEXT DAY THE CLOSED THE ACCOUNT WITH MY MONEY AS U SEE IM PISSED OFF CALLED MANY TIMES THE REPS COULDNT HELP WITH NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING HAD TO EMAIL THESE A HOLES AND EMAIL AFTER EMAIL NO ONE HAS RESPONDED DO NOT GET THIS CARD DO NOT OPEN ANY ACCOUNT EVEN FOR YOUR KID THESES PEOPLE SUCK BIG TIME HATE THIS COMPANY AND IT WAS ONLY 50 JUST IMAGINE PEOPLE WHO DID THERE WHOLE PAY CHECKS KISS IT GOODBYE SMH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. I wish I would have done more research before ordering one of these cards and having my paycheck direct deposited. I have been waiting three weeks and no card and have two direct deposits loaded in it already. Customer service is rude and very unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend this card to anyone!!!

  11. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. And I’m talking about Blockbuster, Wendy’s, ect. Please take my advice and never ever ever do anything with this company. I switched to them for my direct deposit and it’s been confirmed by my employer and my employers bank that they have my money, but my account balance is reading 0.00 and they swear they haven’t received it. I work for a US government agency and it’s 100% confirmed they got my direct deposit, now they are holding my money hostage. For the love of God, do not do not do not use this company

  12. This card company sucks big time. You can’t use Uber,when you run credit scores with it it pops up restricted + many other little things that you cant use the card for. Makes like difficult, trust me just pass on this card company.

I been with this punk ass company for 2yrs until lately money been comin up missing 2 this shit happen i call they fake azz customer service never speak to know one i wounder if these mfs..in India some where i cut up all my cards they stole 170,00 dollars this time i trust but not like that where im have my life income goin to this one fuckin card these side chick company’s pretending to help u but fuck u.these companies can easily close shop an take our money but start a new business doin the same shit too many cards to try to trust.so in othe words we take our chances !!!sometimes we get fucked.???????✊✌??????fuck pursuing they know different from our government so asking them for help no cause they hands our dirty too American people so they investigate this that’s as far as it going.straight up
