“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another What You, too Thought I was the only one.” By Clive Staples Lewis
Today, my youngest son had a play date with a woman that I met through www.cafemoms.com a while back. What I found interesting about this friend was her kind heart and her down to earth personality. Plus I LOVE her tattoos. I personally don’t have any tattoos because I’m way to chicken to get one on my body. However, I have a love of them all the same. My husband’s first tattoo was of my name many years ago!! It’s long since faded (because he tried removing it many times when we were separated, but it was relentless and survived–thank God.) However, he does hope to get more tattoos in the future. I believe once Zeva’s born, he’ll probably get one with all of our names on it. (I’m NEVER leaving him again!! I’d rather die first!!) Plus her son is the same age as my youngest, and they seem to play well together.
Well, today due to the rain, we were forced to go from McDonald’s play yard which is outside (which I love the fresh air when it’s a nice day) and had to go to Chick-Fil-A’s play yard which is smaller, but it’s inside. Well, we were there not very long and another woman was there with her kids as well. Now mind you, I DON’T meet a stranger. I will gladly get to know anyone around me. If you make me feel uncomfortable, I’ll just keep my conversation with you mighty brief, and I won’t pursue getting to know anything more about you. However, I WILL respect you and treat you fairly just the same!! This lady though, was very easy to talk to. I felt like we were suppose to meet for a reason, but I hadn’t quite figured it out. Then later on, I got to find out that we have so many things in common it’s not even funny. 🙂 Hopefully we’ll be able to get to know each other more, and have our friendship grow. Time will tell, but most of the time it happens. 🙂
I’ve been able to connect with a lot of female friends lately, and believe me it’s been lifting my spirits a lot. My husband says that he is seeing a positive difference in me, and it’s worth it for me to get my time with them. 🙂
This weekend I get to go to the home show in Columbia with a friend, and trust me I’m excited. I LOVE home shows, and if I thought I could have become a home designer I would have pursued that for a living. However, I lack that creative skills!! It doesn’t mean that I can’t FULLY appreciate someone else s creativity to the max!! So, I’m like a little kid at Christmas counting down until Saturday. I’m just praying the weather is nice so we can enjoy all of the experience. Going to home and car shows with my Dad growing up is actually one of my most fond and favorite memories.
My youngest son made me so proud today!!! He was a very well mannered kid!! He even endured a two hour food class where he couldn’t say a single peep, and for my little chatter box (who is also like me and doesn’t meet a stranger (when I’m around to protect him.)) He did great in the library during story time. He just was a wonderful all around kid today!!
Speaking of my kids, my oldest has done marvelous so far this week in school!! We got him his video game that he wanted, and he’s currently playing it. He’s got all of his spelling words down to a tee and he’s learned all of his other material as well. He’s been working extra hard to be a model student, son, and brother this week. I’m just praying that it continues!! He always keeps me on my toes, but I can count on him to keep my life interesting. 🙂
Zeva has made sure that I’ve known she there all day long too!! However, she’s done it in a fun way today.
Speaking of friends being amazing today, one of my friends gave me a beautiful photo frame for Zeva. I feel in love with it the minute I looked at it. I was extremely touched by her gesture.
God is really working miracles in my life, and bringing friends into my life in such a way that I’m being able to fully treasure them. My heart is about to explode with gratitude and love for them all!!
