Well, today started out with my doctor’s appointment at 8:30am. It took forever for our nurse to get my information into the computer, but to her defense, they changed the computer system again and asked for a heck of a lot more information from me. Once we finally got into the room the doctor and a student from one of the local colleges came into the room. They talked to me about my er visit, and the doctor wasn’t alarmed at all. At first he just brushed it all off. Then he did an ultrasound on me, and that changed his tune quite a bit. He could barely see the baby on his ultrasound, so he decided to have me go to another place that has better equipment. However, prior to releasing me he told me that I’m on complete bed rest and I can’t “play” with my husband.
We went to the other location, and got seen rather quickly. We got to see our baby almost up close and personal. It was totally amazing. Then we got to hear the heartbeat. Which the doctor said we couldn’t do yet, but we heard it. The heartbeat is beating at 124 beats per minute. It is so amazing to see and hear it so early on. Provided I don’t have any contractions, the baby will remain growing safe in sound in me.
I’m going bonkers already not being able to do the little things that I normally do around the house (laundry, dishes, cooking, going for walks, etc.) However, it will be all worth it when the baby comes around December 20. Yes, our due date got changed, but at least this time we have a very accurate time frame for which to expect her.
I’ll be glad when school starts for me on the 1st of May. It will at least give me something constructive to do with my time. However, I am not looking forward to this class because it is VERY intimindating to say the least. However, God has got me through all the other classes.
My boys can’t wait for this baby. They got to see the pictures from the ultrasound, and even though you really can’t tell it’s a baby yet, they are tickled pink about it. They are both talking about how they are going to be a good big brother to the baby. They were also talking about how much bigger they were than it. It was a cute conversation to say the least. However, I’m just glad that they are looking forward to the baby’s arrival with open arms and are more than ready to love it. They are already making sure that they are checking on me as much as they can, almost to the point of getting on my nerves. The other day I was taking a nap, and I guess I was sleeping to soundly for them because they had to wake me up. Then they left me alone for a little bit. They are doing their very best to be the most behaved little kids. Now I know it won’t last for the full nine months, but the fact that they care enough to make the extra effort now pleases me so much.
I wish my mom were hear to share in the joy of all of this news. Granted she didn’t have much to do with her grand kids when she was here, but she would have been happy for us because she knew I wanted another little one with Del.
Well, I’ve bored you enough.
