As a parent who wasn’t raised up with my parents around for various reasons, I’m always reading as many parenting books as I can get my hands on. I was pleased to work with Flyby Promotions again in doing this book review and giveaway in exchange for an honest review. Strong and Kind and Other Important Character Traits Your Child Needs to Succeed by Korie Robertson with Chrys Howard was an easy parenting book to read.

My Review of Strong and Kind:
Reading Strong and Kind is like having a cup of coffee with Korie and Willie while listening to their wisdom from twenty years of parenting. The author didn’t fill it with boring facts or statistics. Nor did she come across as a Ms. KnowItAll in her advice. They came across a down home country folks just sharing their hearts on the matter of raising our kids to be upstanding citizens in this crazy world we’re living in. In many ways, it felt like they were preaching to the choir.
However, it was still nice to see them making such a bold stand for teaching kids about God’s love. Throughout their lives, they have strived to create a Christian home for their kids. It shows in their show Duck Dynasty. I wish Netflix would get more of their show on their list of shows to watch.
