There has been a lot of mentioning of the regular postal service cutting back their days and even their locations that we have to do business with them due to lack of funds. I can honestly see why that would be an issue since they may not be doing nearly as much business as they use to do since more people are getting over their fears of the internet. However, we STILL NEED the postal system!! There are many companies that rely on the postal system to survive. Even all the businesses that operate on the internet, need the postal system to run like it’s always run in order to maintain the customer base that they have already gained.
Can you imagine the impact of not having the mail run as much will have on the US?? I know, I for one, still can’t wait for the mail to come. I still love to feel a magazine or book in my hand (and get many of them in the mail.) I also get personal letters in the mail. Not to mention, my husband ALWAYS has Netflix movies coming in and going out on a regular bases. For all of the internet businesses that rely on the mail to be a fast timely way of getting their products to their customers, I suggest that they talk to the postal service system (people in charge) about coming up with a set rate plan that they can be assured that the postal system will continue to run as it has been. Of course, for all my little brain knows, they may already have done that, but I find it unlikely otherwise the news articles would have used that against the postal system as means of showing that it is in some form their fault.
So, our economy is already crumbling, and they want to continue to cut things that we NEED in order to thrive and grow?? I thought it was a low blow when they cut the student grants that they offered to college students, such as myself, but I accepted it with stride because I felt that they were making cuts in other areas that ALSO needed funding just as much. I understand what it’s like to be trying to squeeze money almost quite literally out the crack of one’s behind!! I’ve lived that life many times over, but the rich always seems to be getting richer and the poor, always seem to be grasping at straws to try and cross over that line. Every time we get close to reaching that comfortable place, we get knocked right back down.
There has to be a solution to all of this!! However, I’m not quite smart enough to know what it is. There are many times I wish we lived in a socialism society. However, I have a very strong competitive side to me if you let me run loose and take charge of a situation, and I do like to be number one at whatever it is I’m doing. So, I don’t think I’d survive a socialism society, even though, I’m tired of so many things being unfair concerning the way government handles our money and many of the laws that they put in place.
What are you views on this topic?? What do you think the solution is???
