My #VeggieTalesDay Event

Dreamworks Animation provided travel expenses and hosting a #VeggieTalesDay Event for myself along with many other wonderful bloggers to learn more about many of their upcoming events. Here is some highlights from our trip there. Be on the look out  for some cute little posts from her sharing more about the VeggieTales. She has gained many ideas to do with the kids since they have a strong love for the VeggieTales ever since we have had the chance to review VeggieTales The House That Stood.

 VeggieTales Celery Night Fever

I’m going to start with the most recent news and work my way up. I’m sure by now you’ve probably heard about their newest movie on the market called Celery Night Fever, which came out on August 5th. If you haven’t this cute little movie is a bit of a “retro funkadelic sights and sounds of polyester leisure suits and disco balls.” In this movie the overall message is the value of friendship and forgiveness. I don’t think it was ironic that this was released right after National Friendship Day which was August 3, 2014. This is a really adorable movie and one I recommend that you get. You can watch the below video to get a glimpse of what it’s completely about.

VeggieTales Beauty and the Beet

Crystal is  personally excited for the new movie they are working on now called Beauty and the Beet which is coming out in October. This little movie captured her  attention because  she has fond memories of the original movie Beauty and the Beast being done in a live a play in Ontario, Canada with her Dad.

VeggieTales version has a bit of a different twist to the well-known fairy tale and they add in the reason why it’s important to love others from a biblical stand point. I only got a short little insight to it, but that was more than enough to hook her.

She even got to do a tiny bit of voice over action.  They had to have chosen one of the easiest places for the ladies to do it in the movie because I really think all of the bloggers there did a remarkable job. However, we did all get quite few laughs from it. Now, I personally wanted to do a voice over for Bruce the Onion, and I feel confident I would have nailed that on the head.

Our Interview with Kellie Pickler

We got to meet Kellie Pickler who is the voice behind Mirabelle who is the “sweet”-potato lead singer of the family band. As the Mirabelle character she is the one who is showing others how to love and treat others according to how we are supposed to do it.

I have to say Kellie is an amazing individual to meet. She treated all of us like we were just a new friend for her to meet. She answered our questions that we all had about her. One thing that I will always remember is her stating that the reason why she loved the fact that she was playing the character of Mirabelle is because this role reminded her of her Grandmother. She stated that her Grandmother had the same knack for being able to love others regardless of how they were.

Now I personally, know how rare of a trait that is to find in another person. It is something that we should all strive to do more of. I think that is the big reason why I am so utterly eager for this movie to come out.

The VeggieTales Music

Both of these movies will be giving us new music to listen to. Celery Night Fever will providing us with six new original songs. This soundtrack will also showcase the musical side of Terry Crews. The Beauty and the Beet movie will have seven new original songs all performed by Kellie Pickler herself. This little soundtrack album will be released the same time the DVD comes out. It will also be available for download via iTunes too. I managed to get Kellie to sing a line of one of the songs, and as a family who loves music I am confident it’s going to be a big hit.

VeggieTales In The House

VeggieTales In the House #VeggieTalesDay Event

Now we get to enjoy two eleven minute segments for each show. We get to see how the VeggieTales actually live out their days. This will premiere on the streaming platform on Thanksgiving weekend.

    • She really is a down to earth woman and I enjoyed the chance to get to know her. From what I got to see, she definitely doesn’t let her fame change her southern roots.

  1. I haven’t watched any Veggie Tales before so I don’t have a favorite. I know lots of people who rave about Veggie Tales so I am thinking I am going to need to start watching them.

    • They are a great little show to have your kids watch. I feel they are a great way to help teach your kids how to treat others.

    • Until this event, I wasn’t really big into knowing much about them. My wife and the kids loved them, but I was always kind of indifferent. Now though, I’m totally behind them and their message.

    • I do too. I didn’t realize just how much of an impact they have on other’s lives until I went to this event. Now, I’m a VeggieTale fan and am eager to showcase them more.

    • I can understand liking the ones your kids grew up with. It brings back those special memories from when they were younger.

  2. Who knew you could have so much fun with vegetables? Seriously though, looks like you had an amazing time. What fun!

    • They really are. Now that I got to meet the men behind those voices I’m even more impressed by them.

    • That’s so awesome to hear. I hope that you’ll come back for my wife’s posts that she will be posting later on giving you activities to do with VeggieTales and now your grand kids.

  3. We are huge Veggie Tales fans. I’ve lost track of how many we’ve purchase over the years. For many of the grand kids, Veggie Tales DVD’s are always part of their Christmas gifts. What a fantastic experience!

    • We did have a great time. I’m sure we’ll be enjoying them for years to come since Zeva is still only 2 years old.
