These are pictures from our little Halloween get together with some of the wonderful mothers I met through CafeMom.com. I don’t get to join these ladies very often for the play dates that they line up for the kids (as well as ourselves), but every time I’ve been blessed enough to join them, I’ve had a blast. I enjoy the ladies more than I can express, and our kids play well together. I’m hoping that one day I’ll be able to join them on a more regular bases. The boys had a blast at the Halloween party. Jimmy talked about being turned into a mummy for days and told everyone about it. Now they are asking when their next Halloween party is. 🙂
Jimmy did well with his home schooling so far this week! We had a little struggle with getting him use to the fact that I’m not going to hold his hand while he does his own work for everything that he does. However, today I think I finally got through to him that he doesn’t NEED me as much as he thinks he does. He also got to have a bit of a confidence boost because he saw that he truly can figure things out on his own if he takes the time to really do it.
I read an article the other day where a woman was complaining about feeling like she was required to go to Mommy-baby get together. It reminded me of how I use to feel about the whole issue. I use to believe there was no use in doing it too. Now that I’m expecting my third kid and have been a SAHM for over two years now, I realize just how much Mom’s need time to be with other mom’s and just how much it makes an impact on their relationship with their kids and the rest of their families. Now, I look forward to time with my friends, and it’s an added plus when the kids have someone to play with too!! My husband even has started to notice the difference it’s made in mine and the kids lives.
Well, I’ve rambled enough for today. I hope this finds you doing well.
