EvenFlo Provides Mommy and Kid Comfort #EvenfloPlatinum

I participated in this sponsored campaign on behalf of One2One Network. All opinions stated are my own. I received this car seat for free in order to facilitate this review but all opinions are my own.

I have been eyeing better quality car seats for Zeva for a while now because she is my last baby and her current car seat is really a plain Jane compared to the higher end car seats on the market. When I was given the chance to review the EvenFlo’s ProComfort Symphony™ DLX I was totally thrilled for Zeva.

Did you know that “according to a study conducted by American Baby and Safe Kids Worldwide, new moms are 300% more likely to get into an accident than other drivers, in part due to tending to an upset baby?” I found this statistic to be quite alarming. However, as a mother of three kids I can honestly see some real truth to this one. When Zeva was still a little baby she didn’t travel well at all. She HATED being in a car seat. I wish I had this seat when she was born. In fact, I could have because this car seat actually works for children ranging in weight from 5-110 lbs. making it the only car seat I would have needed. Hind sight is 20/20 though, and if I had bought it I never would have thought to do a blog review of it. I have this All-in-One car seat now, and I know it will last until she grows out of needing a protective seat in the car.

Zeva thought she was be given a little prince car seat the way she acted when she saw the box at our front door step when we got home. She couldn’t wait to get into it. Zeva has always been jealous of the fact that Delbert had cup holders in his boaster seat. You could tell she was pleased that she has two cup holders of her own. Plus she’s more comfortable in this seat. I personally gain so much from her owning this car seat.

I have peace of mind knowing that she is in a seat that offers her so much more protection. Since she is now more comfortable in her seat since it is made with Gel Matrix™ Technology, she doesn’t fuss nearly as much on the road. That is a MAJOR bonus for me because now I can focus more on the road instead hearing her fuss due to discomfort. I also love how securely it fits in the seat. I literally just connected the straps to my little clip section in my vehicle (not sure what that is called) and the car seat didn’t wiggle or budge when we shook it one bit. Then when we strapped it in the rest of the way, it really felt as stable as a rock!

Since I live in SC the insides of our cars get extremely HOT and her buckles on her old car seat would get scolding HOT to the point that it literally felt like they were burning her legs and my fingers as I would attempt to strap her in. The EvenFlo’s ProComfort Symphony™ DLX has a feature called “Buckle Pockets that neatly and smartly tuck the buckle tongues away.” I wouldn’t say that they are overly easy to find when you have a child in the seat squirming like Zeva does, but I will say it’s nice to know that my fingers are not going to be burnt from the summer heat.

Overall, Zeva and I are tickled pink with this car seat. I am ecstatic that she has it. I know that she has extra protection and she’s as snug as a bug in a bed but in our car. She feels like a big girl in her princess seat.

You can get one of these ProComfort Series car seats at your local Target or through Target.com. You can also connect with EvenFlo on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube.

    • Graco is a good brand too. I have used many of their products through the years. EvenFlo is actually a new brand for me, but I’m really pleased with it.

  1. My baby boy is 5 months old and has outgrown his infant car seat! We are in the market for a new one and this may be just what we need! I like the green, gender neutral, it will work for baby #2 (whenever he or she arrives)

  2. My middle child hated being in the car & cried the entire time. I could see how that would have increased my likelihood of being in an accident. Glad that phase is over! Now onto the kids fighting increasing my risk of an accident.

    • I’m sorry that made me chuckle. I deal with my two boys fighting often. Luckily they don’t have to ride next to each other often.

  3. My girls loved being in the car! Thank goodness we are WAY past the stage of needing car seats – they wreak havoc on leather seats LOL

    • I am eager for this stage to be behind me, but I’m not eager to have my kids grow up on me either. I have never got a car with leather seats, but I can imagine.

    • I didn’t realize how much of an impact comfort would make. I got the basic car seat for Zeva, but she is a totally different passenger now. I asked her again today if she liked her seat and she was very quick to tell me that she loves it.

  4. It’s amazing how much carseats have changed since my first was in one 26 years ago. My youngest just grew out of her booster seat, and even in the few years since she was in a regular toddler car seat, the advances in both safety and comfort have come a long way, especially comfort!

    • I have to say that I highly agree with this. The car seats have changed a lot even the past years. I can still remember how seat belts and car safety wasn’t such a big deal when I was kid.

  5. A safe and comfortable car seat is a priority for me. Our car seat cost us a pretty penny but it is insanely safetied out and comfortable for my son.

    • That’s a huge plus. This car seat is a bit pricey too, but it’s definitely worth every penny. That’s especially true when you take into account the fact that it’s the ONLY car seat a parent will ever need.

  6. This looks like a great seat! My little guy is still rear facing, hoping to keep him that way for as long as possible! I will have to look into this one once he is ready to turn around!

    • That is one of the biggest benefits to this seat is that it covers your kids from them weighing 5 lbs all the way to 110 lb. I can understand waiting until you need a new one that’s for sure.

  7. I’m so glad that I’m past that stage! My kids didn’t really mind being in their car seats, It was trying to take one out and making sure they didn’t run away while I got another child out times three! It’s as though they knew that was a safe time to race away and it so never was.

  8. Wow, car seats have changed so much since my kids were little! Once my kids start having kids, I’ll have to brush up on what’s out there!

  9. That is so smart that the buckle tongues are hidden away from the heat. I remember always putting my hand in front of the kids legs to make sure they didn’t get burned by that metal.

    • It really is nice. It definitely saves my fingers and keeps her from yelping from the buckles hurting her. (Once she starts it takes forever for her to stop.)

  10. My oldest daughter cried almost incessantly in the car and must have been quite a distraction.. The funny thing is that I actually completely forgot about that until my brother reminded me of it.. Funny how time erases some things.. I think she and the rest of the passengers would have fared much better with this car seat!

    • I totally get what you mean that we don’t remember the things that annoyed us from ages ago. I’m glad to know that I wasn’t alone with this issue.

  11. Please review the car seat installation instructions immediately! From the look of the second picture, your daughter’s car seat is installed incorrectly!!

Directly from the manual: NEVER use the vehicle seat belts when using the LATCH system [the little clips that you don’t what they’re called]. Using both together can cause slack in a sudden stop or crash.

If you’ve misplaced the car seat manual, you can download it on the Evenflo website – go to your car seat, then product support (comment form won’t let me paste the link here).

It is a fairly common misconception that using both he LATCH connectors and the seat belt increase safety, but the exact opposite is true. Please double-check your install ASAP!

    • Thank you so much for taking the time to point that detail out to me. I have always used both buckles with all of the car seats we’ve owned in the past.

    • I’m so glad you pointed out that detail. I literally ran and read the manual and sure enough you’re right. Thank you!

    • I was driving in town today, and noticed just how big it is compared to the last one. She literally looks like she’s sitting on a thrown of some kind.
