You Can’t Make Me (But I Can Be Persuaded) by Cynthia Ulrich Tobias -Book Review

I wrote a blog post the other day about my oldest son being my big challenge. He is so much like me that we butt heads like crazy!!! I vent about him ALL the time it seems, but he’s really got my heart wrapped around his fingers long before I met him.

I choose to do a book review on [easyazon_link identifier=”1578565650″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]You Can’t Make Me (But I Can Be Persuaded), Revised and Updated Edition: Strategies for Bringing Out the Best in Your Strong-Willed Child[/easyazon_link] becauseir?t=tidbitofexp 20&l=as2&o=1&a=1578565650 of him primarily. Low and behold, it made me realize just how much of a “strong-willed person” I am as well. “It takes one to know one.” Jimmy loves to challenge authority daily! However, he’s extremely smart and he loves to solve problems. When he wants to do his school work let me tell you, he’s all in and he is a master learner/worker.

[easyazon_link identifier=”1578565650″ locale=”US” tag=”tidbitofexp-20″]You Can’t Make Me (But I Can Be Persuaded), Revised and Updated Edition: Strategies for Bringing Out the Best in Your Strong-Willed Child[/easyazon_link] made me realize some ways in which I was hurting my relationship with Jimmy more than I was helping it. I want to maintain my relationship with him because it’s taken a long time for us to gain the bond that we have, and I definitely don’t want anything to break it. This book has given me ways in which to achieve what I want from him, and still maintain “authority” with him. I tried some of the techniques mentioned in the book today, and low and behold instead of doing school work for 9 hours and STILL having work left to be done for the day…he actually had all of his work done for the day within 6 hours (and he got two hours of physical activity today.) So, for us, that was MAJOR progress.

I read this book in less than three days time and have soaked up every word. So, if you also have a strong willed childir?t=tidbitofexp 20&l=as2&o=1&a=1578565650 like I do, then run to get this book!!

Do you have a strong-willed child?
