The Importance of Hobbies

Hobbies give people something to focus their energy and time on. I know when I was riding horses 1-2 hours a day at least, I was a healthy weight. Of course, owning that horse also meant taking care of his needs such as hauling bales of hay, 50 lb pounds of feed on a regular bases, and also cleaning stalls and him as well. Plus when he was boarded at a location half a mile away one way, I had to ride my bike to the stable rain or shine to feed him. So, he kept me active and busy and physically fit.

However, I realized today that although riding horses is more physically challenging because there is more involved. Riding four wheelers also keeps me active and wanting to go just as much. I couldn’t wait to get on the four wheeler and the kids and I rode for HOURS today. We all came back with a bit to much sun, but it will be healed by morning. However, we had a blast!! We got to go explore all the dirt roads around our house. I probably would have done it longer had I didn’t have the kids with me. However, it was extremely fun while it lasted. Plus now that I have kids, things are not the same without them.

Even when Del and I go out on a date things are so quiet we tend long for the kids. Don’t get me wrong we have fun together, but kids have a way of adding “life to the party.”

Even having this blog has become a major time grabber for me because I’m constantly looking for ways to promote it and also get businesses involved with it. I am also learning a lot about online marketing as a result from having this site. (I still have A LOT to learn by a long shot!!!) However, I am having fun doing it so it is still considered a good hobby for me. 🙂

I am still waiting on having more comments so I can get know more people. I was hoping to get to know others who maybe can relate to my blogs in some form or fashion. I would love to know what you think and things about your life. 🙂

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.
