Love At It’s Finest…

I had my adopted grandparents come see me today. They are in their late 70’s and they have been married to each other for over 50+ years. They are an adorable couple. They have God as the center of their marriage. They four kids and nine grandkids of their own. However, they have taken me under their wings since I was nine years old. They have loved my kids as though they were their great grandkids as well. They have been there for me everytime I’ve ever needed them and even when I didn’t. I LOVE to hear them talk about their life.
Grandpa was proud and happy when I got back together with Del. He told me that I finally landed a good man that was worthy of me. He still gives his approval today for our family and life. He gave me his look (the one with a smile in the eyes–kind of look.) He admired how much Del has done to the house since the last time he was here.
Grandma was so thrilled to be holding Zeva. She didn’t want to leave. I love that woman so much!! She has showered me with so much love. She has a heart of gold. She has taught me so much over the years. In fact she helped me to finally get to the point that I followed my heart and am finally happy with my life!!! She helped me to not feel guilty for wanting the life I have.
They sat down on our couch and immediately held each other’s hands. It was so sweet to see that they are still that close even after so many years of marriage. 🙂 They are so close!! They pick on one another in such a loving manner. They share their life with me, and I treasure every story they have told me. I treasure the example they give of what a marriage is suppose to be like. It’s so rare anymore, and I wish more people would follow their example.

They must have inspired Del too because he wrote something so sweet about us after they left. I don’t know if I’m allowed to share what he wrote, but it made me extremely happy. 🙂 If I’m allowed to share it, I’ll post it soon. 🙂

I'm Crystal. I'm married to Dale, and mother to Johnny. Some might say that my life is perfect because I get to do all the cliché wife things like cooking, cleaning, and decorating - but there's more! I also have many hobbies including needlework (crochet), sewing, and reading. My son's education is important, so we homeschool him together.
