Finding a Movie Dilemma

My wife and I went to have our weekly date night, but since it’s in between seasons for our shows that we normally cuddle up and watch together we decided to surf for something to watch. We literally ended up spending our entire date night time flipping through channels and surfing through our two online services trying to find something to watch. The first one gave us a lot of options, but they were movies or shows we had already seen. The second option was filled with lots of OLD movies.

While we were scanning through the second options there were many movies that were listed that my wife had never heard of. They made me feel OLD because I can remember watching those said movies when I was a kid.

Needless to say, I felt like we never really had a date night that night because we didn’t get to find anything worthwhile to watch together. Now, I know I have to have time to search for a decent movie AHEAD of time so that I can enjoy our date night together.

This really did frustrate me because we do pay good money to have all of these options available to us to find something to watch when we want to watch it. I keep stressing that the movie industry needs to bypass the theaters and start allowing us to rent the movies online to watch them. Of course, they could still do both, but I know A LOT of people that feel the same way I do that we’d much rather have the luxury of watching the movie at home.

For us, it takes a long time to be able to go see a movie, and finding a babysitter than can take on all three kids for us to basically take a day to go see one movie is really hard to do. What is really sad, is my wife and I have had movie theater tickets to go see any movie we want for ages now, but haven’t been able to cash them in for that very reason.

Am I alone in this thought process?
